ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) announced the start of land acquisition in Anakapalli district, Andhra Pradesh, for a cutting-edge steel facility. The project, with an initial capacity of 7.3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), underscores the company's commitment to bolstering India's steel manufacturing goals by 2030.
Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, welcomed the initiative, emphasizing its potential to generate jobs and promote economic growth. This development aligns with Andhra Pradesh's vision of becoming an industrial powerhouse, reflecting the broader national 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative.
ArcelorMittal representatives, including Chairman Lakshmi Mittal and CEO Aditya Mittal, highlighted the project as a strategic step towards strengthening India's role in global manufacturing. The venture is part of AM/NS India's nationwide expansion, which includes increasing capacity at its flagship plant in Hazira, Gujarat, and planning a new facility in Odisha.
