Air India Express is positioning itself as a formidable player in the high-growth, low-cost market segment. The Tata Group-owned airline has set a target of carrying 30 million passengers in the coming fiscal year, alongside expanding its fleet and focusing on providing economy class seats exclusively.
Managing Director Aloke Singh announced plans to increase Air India Express' fleet by adding 15 aircraft next year, including nine Boeing 737s. The airline's summer 2025 schedule will see a 50% boost in weekly departures, with a reach extending to 54 destinations.
As part of its strategy, Air India Express aims to strengthen virtual interline partnerships, streamline operations, and maintain competitive ticket pricing despite potential challenges such as geopolitical developments and fluctuating fuel prices.
