Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu predicted India will become the world's third-largest economy by 2028, with the potential to climb to first or second by 2047. Speaking at the All India Research Scholars Summit 2025 at IIT Madras, Naidu stressed the pivotal role of academic institutions in driving technological progress.
Naidu acknowledged IIT Madras for its contributions to startups like Agnikul Cosmos and Mindgrow Technologies. He highlighted India's digital revolution, citing achievements like Aadhaar and UPI. Projecting rapid economic growth, Naidu noted India's ascent to the fifth-largest economy in 2021 and anticipated further advancements.
Focusing on infrastructure and green energy, Naidu announced Andhra Pradesh's ambitious plans, including the establishment of Quantum Valley and significant investments in renewable energy. He emphasized AI and deep technology collaborations with industry giants, promising a future of innovation and sustainability.
