The European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA) has urged European policymakers to prioritize finding solutions to trade barriers after President Donald Trump of the United States announced a 25% tariff on foreign-made vehicles.
In a statement, CLEPA emphasized that tariffs of this magnitude could disrupt the flow of goods, elevate production costs, and ultimately make cars more expensive for consumers worldwide, including in the United States.
CLEPA further warned that such trade measures pose a significant threat to the economic and industrial resilience of the western world, urging immediate attention and collaborative action from European leadership.
