Tensions Escalate: Houthi Missile Threat Targets Israel
The Israeli military intercepted two missiles from Yemen. The Iran-backed Houthis launched missiles in support of Hamas, targeting Israel’s Ben Gurion airport and military sites. The U.S. is responding with strikes against Houthi bases in Yemen. Israel previously diminished Hezbollah's capabilities.

In a significant escalation of regional tensions, the Israeli military announced on Thursday that it successfully intercepted two missiles launched from Yemen, before they could reach Israeli territory. Sirens blared across various parts of Israel, including Jerusalem, as a precautionary measure.
The missiles were launched by the Iran-backed Houthi movement, which claimed one to be hypersonic. The attack targeted Israel's primary air gateway, Ben Gurion airport, and a military location near Tel Aviv. Additionally, missiles and drones were reportedly directed towards maritime assets in the Red Sea.
Global implications of the conflict are unfolding, as illustrated by Italy's ITA Airways diverting a flight to Tel Aviv due to the threat. This development underscores the Houthis' standing as a formidable force within Iran's 'Axis of Resistance,' impacting regional stability. The situation remains tense with ongoing U.S. strikes on Houthi positions since mid-March.
