Women are making significant strides in India's direct selling industry, rising from 37% to 44% of the workforce, as revealed by a recent survey. The northern region dominates with nearly 30% of gross sales, followed by the east at 24.2%. Wellness products remain the top sellers, with cosmetics and personal care following.

India's direct selling sector has reached unprecedented growth, boasting a turnover of Rs 22,142 crores in FY 2023-24, a 4.4% increase from the previous year. This surge, detailed in the Annual Survey Report by the Indian Direct Selling Association (IDSA) and announced by Union Minister Chirag Paswan, showcases a steady expansion with a CAGR of 7.15% over the past five years.

The report highlights a 64.15% share of total sales from wellness and nutraceuticals, with cosmetics and personal care contributing 23.75%. Maharashtra leads with a 13% share in state-wise sales. Paswan praised the industry's role in job creation and emphasized government initiatives to enhance business environments and support the sector's continued growth.
