A tragic accident on Old Airport Road claimed the lives of two men after a BMTC bus struck their motorcycle on Wednesday night. The victims, identified by police as Tapas (33) and Aditya Bose (31), were both natives of West Bengal. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision occurred around 10:33 pm near the ISRO Signal on HAL Main Road, according to a statement by Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). The electric bus was in transit from Kempegowda Bus Station to Kadugodi when the crash happened. A private car was also involved in the incident.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the motorcycle tried to overtake the bus, leading to a collision with an oncoming vehicle. This caused the riders to fall under the bus's rear wheels. The BMTC expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and emphasized their commitment to road safety. A formal investigation is in progress.
