In a bid to bolster economic growth, Goa's Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has presented a revenue surplus budget that promises lucrative tax incentives and infrastructure support for tourism entrepreneurs and industries making substantial investments in the region.
The budget projects a robust growth in the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at a rate of 14.27%, with a per capita income estimate of Rs 9.69 lakh, signaling strong economic health.
Significant measures include a full SGST reimbursement for large investors and a special focus on promoting tourism infrastructure through tax holidays and other incentives to revitalize rural areas. Furthermore, an emphasis on local employment is evident with plans for a dedicated job portal favoring Goan candidates.
