Human Error Likely at Fault in DHL Cargo Plane Crash
Lithuanian prosecutors suspect human error caused the DHL cargo plane crash in Vilnius in November. The Spanish-operated Boeing 737-400 crashed during landing, splitting into pieces and killing one crewmember. Investigations reveal a disabled hydraulic system likely prevented flap deployment, and officials have requested Spain to question the pilot.

Lithuanian prosecutors have indicated that human error is the leading cause of a DHL cargo plane crash at Vilnius airport last November. The Boeing 737-400, operated by Spain's Swiftair, crashed after a flight from Leipzig, Germany, causing the plane to split and collide with a house.
One crewmember aboard the aircraft was killed, and several others were injured, including the Spanish pilot who is recovering in Spain, where authorities have been requested to question him as a suspect in the incident.
Investigations, which included data from flight recorders, cockpit conversations, and scene inspections, suggest the crash was due to a disabled hydraulic system that hindered flap deployment. The prosecutor's office has dismissed other potential causes.
