Nissan Motor has announced its plans to introduce two new models in the Indian market: a 5-seater Compact Sports Utility Vehicle and a 7-seater Multi-Purpose Vehicle, starting at the beginning of the next financial year. This move was unveiled at the Global Product Showcase Event in Yokohama, Japan.
The launches align with Nissan's efforts to adapt to the burgeoning Indian market and meet the evolving preferences of consumers. Part of a larger investment of USD 600 million announced in collaboration with Renault-Nissan alliance, this initiative will see the introduction of a total of six new vehicles, enhancing the offerings for both brands.
With this strategic push, Nissan aims to bolster its market position in India, ensuring local manufacturing complies with global standards. The vehicles will be produced at the Alliance JV plant in Chennai, serving both domestic and international markets, in a bid to achieve ambitious sales and export targets.
