On Tuesday, Delhi's government unveiled a groundbreaking Industrial Policy for 2025-26, aiming to address industry-related challenges and make business operations smoother in the capital. The announcement was made during the Budget presentation by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
The Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) lauded the policy's introduction, particularly the 'Warehousing Policy,' which promises to meet the increasing demand for secure warehousing solutions. Brijesh Goyal from CTI highlighted the significance of this policy for local traders.
The policy package also introduces a single-window system for business approvals, aimed at eliminating bureaucratic obstacles. The approval for converting leasehold industrial areas to freehold properties was another favorable move, although CTI noted a lack of funds for market redevelopment as a downside. The VAT amnesty scheme offers relief for pending trader cases.
