Indian aviation is set to expand significantly as the Directorate General of Civil Aviation announced an increase in weekly flights for the 2025 summer schedule.
With a planned total of 25,610 departures from 129 airports, the summer schedule marks a 5.50% year-on-year increase from last year, adding new airports such as Ambikapur and Bidar.
Among the 11 domestic airlines, IndiGo will operate the most flights, while Air India and Akasa Air have shown substantial growth. However, SpiceJet will see a slight decrease in operations.
