Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has announced a strategic investment of approximately Rs 1,000 crore for the construction of a state-of-the-art, 20-storey corporate headquarters, which is expected to be completed by April 2027, according to JNPA Chairman Unmesh Sharad Wagh.

Unveiled on Tuesday, the project will not only provide office space for the JNPA but will also house the Directorate General of Shipping and the headquarters of Vadhvan Port, among others. This development reflects JNPA's commitment to modernizing infrastructure to meet rising trade demands.

Situated over 3.16 acres in Mumbai's port area, the building marks a significant step towards enhancing India's maritime capabilities, with the introduction of additional features such as a digital observatory and a 2,000-seat capacity facility. The overall expansion, including the impending Vadhvan Port, aims to manage increased container traffic efficiently.
