India and the United States are taking significant steps towards a comprehensive bilateral trade agreement focused on increasing market access and reducing both import duty and non-tariff barriers.
Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada informed the Parliament that these negotiations aim to strengthen the trade ties between the two nations. Notably, the US has not applied reciprocal tariffs on India to date.
The bilateral talks, also covering supply chain integration, seek to create a mutually beneficial environment, free of impediments. Recent US policy actions on reciprocal trade emphasize their commitment to fair agreements.
