A recent report by TeamLease highlights a persistent gender disparity at the highest levels of corporate leadership, where only 19% of C-suite roles are held by women, despite 46% of entry-level positions being occupied by them.
The report emphasizes the slight rise in women's unemployment from 2.9% to 3.2%, indicating ongoing challenges with job stability. A positive trend, however, is the increased female Labour Force Participation Rate, particularly in rural areas.
Sectors like Consumer Services and Education show promise for female leadership, while industries like Construction and Financial Services continue to be challenging. The study urges improved policies for broader female workforce participation, emphasizing the expansion of job opportunities in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
