A groundbreaking study by Capterra sheds light on the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in recruitment, especially impacting Indian job seekers and employers. The report highlights a complex narrative where technology seamlessly integrates into hiring practices yet also presents unique challenges.

While an overwhelming 87% of job seekers appreciate the efficiency AI introduces in processes like sourcing and ranking candidates, a notable 65% express reluctance to accept roles if automation overtakes the recruitment process. This underscores a crucial need for equilibrium in AI's role in recruitment.

Job seekers now increasingly use AI to enhance their job applications, with 51% leveraging tech tools. Yet, recruiters face the hurdle of assessing exaggerated credentials, with a staggering 96% admitting to inflating qualifications. Analyst David Jani emphasizes the importance of balancing AI advancements with human oversight in the hiring process.
