Punjab to Present 2025-26 Budget and Unveil New 'Hunar Sikhiya' Schools
The Punjab government will present its 2025-26 Budget in the Vidhan Sabha on March 26. The state Cabinet also approved the establishment of 40 'Hunar Sikhiya' schools to provide technical training. An MoU with BCEIPL aims to enhance students' English skills for better employment opportunities.

In a significant move, the Punjab government is set to present its 2025-26 Budget in the Vidhan Sabha on March 26, according to Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema. The Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, approved the Budget Session scheduled for March 21 to March 28.
The government will also inaugurate 40 'Hunar Sikhiya' schools across the state, aimed at providing technical education in various fields, including banking and digital design. This initiative, costing approximately Rs 32 crore, signifies a major investment in the state's educational infrastructure.
Additionally, a waiver for an MoU with the British Council Education India Private Limited was approved to enhance English proficiency for students, benefiting around 5,000 students annually. This program aligns with the state's goal to improve employability among its youth.
