Mumbai recently took significant strides towards a sustainable future with the Mindspace REIT EcoRun, an event that combined the energy of a marathon with a commitment to environmental responsibility. Organized by Mindspace Business Parks REIT and Mirchi, over 3,500 runners participated in races that circled Mindspace Business Park, Airoli East, on March 11.

The EcoRun featured numerous green initiatives, including the use of organic t-shirts, biodegradable cutlery, and plantable bibs. This was more than a traditional marathon; it represented a movement encouraging Mumbaikars to incorporate sustainability into everyday life. Ramesh Nair, CEO of Mindspace Business Parks REIT, emphasized the importance of leading a planet-first mindset, urging others to join the cause.

The event targeted runners of all ages with distances of 21km, 10km, and 5km, bringing together corporate teams, fitness enthusiasts, and seasoned athletes. Notable among the participants were Paralympic runner Ajay Kumar and fitness trainer Priya, both advocates for social causes. The run set a new standard in eco-friendly events, integrating waste reduction strategies and turning participants' efforts into meaningful environmental action.
