The Northeast Frontier Railway has reached a significant milestone with the completion of the statutory inspection for the electrification of the Agartala-Sabroom section in the Lumding division. This development marks a crucial step towards launching commercial services under 25 KV electric traction, aiming to modernize the railway infrastructure in the northeast region.

The statutory inspection, conducted in the presence of Principal Chief Electrical Engineer Sandeep Kumar, ensures safety and operational compliance prior to commencing full-scale electric traction train services, according to NFR's CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma.

Despite the successful trial of an electric train from Dharmanagar to Agartala, full network electrification remains incomplete between Maibong and Chandranathpur, delaying electric train operations from Agartala to Guwahati. Efforts continue to meet electrification goals amid environmental challenges, aligning with the Centre's mission for sustainable, efficient transport.
