A labor dispute at Samsung's Tamil Nadu factory, involving a sit-in protest by 500 workers over employee suspensions, prompts government intervention. The workers demand reinstatement of three employees while the company calls the protest illegal. Production continues unaffected. The factory previously faced a strike resolved after meeting workers' demands.

State officials are poised to intervene in a labor dispute at Samsung's Tamil Nadu factory as 500 workers continue a sit-in protest over the suspension of three employees. This protest marks the second major labor issue at the facility in under six months.
C.V. Ganesan, the state labor minister, assured the public that the government is taking action to resolve the situation swiftly, aiming for normalcy within a few days. Samsung, maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, labeled the protest as illegal and confirmed that production remains unaffected.
The protestors, supported by a union, have promised to return to work only if their suspended colleagues are reinstated. Meanwhile, it's reported that Samsung is utilizing contract workers, ensuring uninterrupted operations. The plant, producing a range of electronics, previously faced a significant strike resolved in October with Samsung meeting union demands.
