The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority has reported a significant 11.99% year-on-year increase in container traffic, achieving 7.05 million TEUs for 2024. This rise comes as the port handled 6.35 million TEUs in the previous year, marking a substantial growth in operations.

In addition to impressive container traffic, JNPA set a new record in cargo throughput, managing 90.27 million tonnes in the past year, which represents a 4.25% increase compared to 2023. Notably, two terminals exceeded the 2-million TEU milestone, with BMCTPL reaching 2.12 million TEUs, the highest for any terminal in one year.

As JNPA gears up to become India's largest port by increasing its handling capacity to over 10 million tonnes in TEUs, a meeting was held with stakeholders, including terminal operators and trade representatives, to discuss further improvements and strategies for continued success.
