Over seven lakh sellers and service providers have joined the Open Network for Digital Commerce (OND) initiative, a government-backed effort announced in 2021, aimed at making digital commerce more accessible to smaller players.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the platform for empowering small businesses and revolutionizing e-commerce, while Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal noted that OND has created a level-playing field on the network over the last three years.
The non-profit company promotes an open e-commerce platform, facilitating business expansion for small retailers and countering the dominance of industry giants, marking over 150 million transactions with 200 network participants so far.
