A tragic accident unfolded on Wednesday night in Mumbai, as a 24-year-old man named Mohan Gholap died in a train mishap. Gholap was traveling back home to Chembur when he met with a fatal accident.
He had boarded the train at Cotton Green station and was commuting via the Harbour line. Accompanied by a friend, Gholap stood on the footboard when his head struck a pole along the tracks near Wadala station. The impact caused him to fall onto the side of the tracks, resulting in severe head injuries.
Passengers and Gholap's friend sprang into action by pulling the emergency chain. However, by the time Government Railway Police arrived on the scene, Gholap had already succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. An official noted that Gholap, an employee at Indigo Press, had just returned from Kolhapur after attending his brother's wedding.
