In a remarkable economic development, Goa reported a significant rise in its revenue collection for December 2024, with an increase of Rs 75.51 crore over the previous year, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister highlighted that this growth underscores Goa's robust economic trajectory and fiscal strength, crediting the tourism sector with playing a pivotal role in boosting the economy with unprecedented tourist arrivals.
From April to December 2024, Goa's total revenue reached Rs 4,614.77 crore, marking an uptick of Rs 365.43 crore from the same period in 2023. The increase, comprising GST and VAT revenues, confirms the state's improved financial performance, Sawant noted.
