Maruti Suzuki India has signed an agreement with the Bihar government to automate driving license test tracks across five locations—Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Gaya, Purnia, and Saran. This strategic move aims to make the license testing process more comprehensive, efficient, and transparent by eliminating human intervention.

Statistics from the Union Road Transport Ministry reveal that 15.3 lakh lives were lost due to road accidents in India over a ten-year span. The country's road accident fatality rate is notably high at 250 per 10,000 km, compared to lower figures in countries like China, the US, and Australia.

Rahul Bharti, Executive Officer Corporate Affairs at Maruti Suzuki India, emphasized that enhancing driver's skills and knowledge of traffic rules is critical to improving road safety. The automated tracks are intended to prepare license seekers better, promoting responsible driving and potentially reducing road accidents linked to human error.
