Air India Express Soars with 37% Flight Increase in West Bengal

Air India Express has announced a significant expansion of its services in West Bengal, increasing the number of weekly flights from Kolkata and Bagdogra to over 230 this winter, up from 168 last year. This move is part of the airline's strategy to bolster trade and tourism in the region.
Included in the expanded service are new direct routes from Kolkata to Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair) and Indore, and from Bagdogra to Chennai. These additions are accompanied by the introduction of two new aircraft, featuring designs inspired by Bengal's Jamdani and Kantha patterns, showcasing the state's cultural heritage.
Air India Express is also expanding its overall network by 30%, supported by a fleet that now includes over 90 aircraft. This winter, the airline will operate more than 400 daily flights, with new routes connecting major Indian cities and increasing frequency on existing domestic and international routes.
