Air India Express announced a significant expansion of its services from West Bengal's Kolkata and Bagdogra airports, boosting weekly flights from 168 to over 230 for the upcoming winter season.
This growth includes new direct routes connecting Kolkata with Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair) and Indore, and Bagdogra with Chennai, aimed at fostering trade and tourism in the region, according to Dr. Ankur Garg, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India Express.
The airline also introduced two new aircraft adorned with "Jamdani" and "Kantha" inspired designs, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of West Bengal.
