Blaze Disrupts BKC Metro Station: Swift Response Restores Services

A fire broke out in the basement of the Bandra-Kurla Complex underground metro station in Mumbai on Friday afternoon, leading officials to suspend rail services as a precautionary measure for over two hours.
The blaze erupted around 1.10 pm in the A4 entry/exit section of the under-construction station. While no injuries were reported, the fire confined to wooden sheets, furniture, and construction materials caused significant smoke in the operational areas.
Assisted by city police, Adani Power, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation, and public workers, the fire brigade extinguished the fire by 3.11 pm. Services resumed following clearance from the fire department. This incident mirrored a recent fire in Pune's Mandai metro station, avoided injuries.
