The IT flexi staffing industry in India is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7 per cent from fiscal year 2024 to 2026, according to a report by the India Staffing Federation (ISF). This sector, which provides temporary and contract IT professionals, is pivotal to India's position in the South Asia-Pacific IT staffing market.
A report named Indian IT Staffing-Sectoral & State Employment Trends Report 2024, offers an in-depth analysis of employment trends across different sectors and states. Notably, India ranks as the second-largest player in the rapidly expanding APAC IT staffing market.
Lohia Bhatia, President of ISF, emphasized the steady growth of the industry, citing a market size of USD 4.9 billion and a workforce of 597,000 professionals in FY24. Employment in IT and ITeS sectors makes up 51 per cent of this market, with a flexi workforce of 296,000 professionals. Efforts to promote gender balance, thanks to strong IT infrastructure and policies, have enabled better female participation, particularly in Delhi-NCR and Karnataka.
