The Andaman and Nicobar Islands administration is gearing up for a landmark investor meet focused on the fisheries and aquaculture sector. Scheduled for November 14, this event will take place at Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island).
In attendance will be Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, along with State Ministers S P Singh Baghel and George Kurian. This initiative, spearheaded by Lt Governor Admiral D K Joshi, represents the first of its kind in the archipelago, aiming to capitalize on the region's unexplored potential.
Vishwendra, the Secretary of Fisheries for Andaman and Nicobar Islands, pointed out that the region's marine products segment holds tremendous untapped potential. Offices for the Marine Product Export Development Authority and the Export Inspection Council are now operational in Port Blair, marking progress in enhancing fisheries infrastructure.
