The Delhi Transport Department has taken significant steps to enhance the city's connectivity by launching a new bus route and extending two existing ones. On Tuesday, officials introduced Route 605B, operated by air-conditioned electric buses, spanning 15 km from Safdarjung Terminal to Nangal Dewat, with key stops including AIIMS and JNU.
In addition to the new route, Route 623 now extends from Vasant Vihar's CPWD to Nangal Dewat, spanning an added 33.7 km. Similarly, Route 610A stretches further from RK Puram Sector-1 to Nangal Dewat, addressing commuting challenges expressed by Munirka residents. These extensions deliver improved transit options for students, athletes, and daily commuters.
During the launch event, Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot and MLAs Parmila Tokas and Bhupinder Singh Joon emphasized the government's commitment to a sustainable and accessible public transport system. The initiative is part of a broader effort to meet the diverse needs of Delhi's population, focusing on crucial connectivity gaps.
