BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri inaugurated a newly constructed 12-lane national highway, linking Mithapur Chowk to the Mumbai-Baroda highway, on Tuesday. This new development aims to ease the notorious traffic congestion in south Delhi, according to a statement from the MP's office.
Bidhuri highlighted the highway as a crucial step towards resolving traffic bottlenecks in the area, stating that the stretch provides dedicated entry and exit points at Mithapur Chowk, thereby improving commuter accessibility. The highway is predicted to slash travel time significantly, with the commute from Mithapur Chowk to Haryana's Sohna now reduced to 25 minutes from what was previously a 2.5-hour journey.
The remaining segment from Sarai Kale Khan to Kalindi Kunj is still under construction. It will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, signaling further improvements in South Delhi's transport infrastructure upon completion.
