Elizabeth Lund, Chief of Quality at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, is scheduled to retire in December, the company announced Monday.

Lund, a veteran with 33 years at Boeing, was appointed as senior vice president of quality for commercial planes in February following the Alaska Airlines 737 MAX 9 panel incident.

The NTSB later criticized Boeing for Lund's unauthorized release of non-public information during an investigation, sparking controversy earlier this year.
