The aviation sector is poised for a significant transformation as Air India and Vistara merge to form a unified entity. The inaugural international flight of this integrated airline will depart from Doha bound for Mumbai at 12:15 am on Tuesday, marking a new chapter for both carriers.
Following the merger scheduled on Monday night, the former Vistara routes will adopt Air India's flight codes. Notably, Vistara flight UK115, heading from Delhi to Singapore, is set to be the airline's final departure under its own brand, as shared by a source to PTI.
In an emotional farewell, the country's largest carrier, IndiGo, acknowledged Vistara's legacy on social media while embracing the horizon of new opportunities. Both Air India and Vistara belong to the Tata Group, with Vistara being a joint venture with Singapore Airlines.
