A resurgence in rural markets has helped Maruti Suzuki India arrest the decline in sales of its entry-level small cars, with a notable 10% growth in retail sales this October, company officials revealed.
Maruti Suzuki, which recently launched a revamped version of its compact sedan Dzire, priced between Rs 6.79 lakh and Rs 10.14 lakh, is optimistic about boosting its market share in the sedan category amid the fast-growing SUV sector.
Company MD and CEO, Hisashi Takeuchi, emphasized the importance of maintaining a presence across all customer segments to preserve high market share, noting strong performance in the sedan segment, which accounts for 50% of their market. The company foresees continuous growth driven by strong rural demand and plans for further expansion into electric vehicles by 2030.
