Drone Offensive Disrupts Moscow Airspace
Ukraine launched 17 drones targeting Moscow, temporarily closing two airports. Twelve drones were intercepted by Russian defense in key districts. There were no reported casualties or damage, but flight restrictions were implemented as a safety measure. The attack marks heightened tensions between Ukraine and Russia.
In a bold move, Ukraine launched at least 17 drones at Moscow, causing temporary disruptions at two major airports early on Sunday, according to Russian officials. This significant development has escalated tensions in the region.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that Russian defense intercepted 12 drones in the Ramenskoye and Kolomensky districts, as well as in Domodedovo city. "Emergency services are present, and there are no reports of casualties or damage," Sobyanin noted on Telegram.
This attack is reminiscent of the previous strike in September, which marked Ukraine's most significant assault on the Russian capital. Rosaviatsia, Russia's federal air transport agency, has imposed temporary flight restrictions for Domodedovo and Zhukovo airports as a precautionary measure.
