The mining department in Maharashtra's Akola district has been tasked with achieving a substantial revenue target of Rs 100 crore for the current fiscal year, according to a senior official on Thursday.
District Mining Officer Pranita Chaple revealed that the target for the 2023-24 financial year was set at Rs 60.74 crore. However, this figure has now been ambitiously raised to Rs 100 crore for 2024-25. E-tendering processes are actively in progress for the district's 36 sand ghats, Chaple noted.
From April to September this year, the department successfully collected approximately Rs 32 crore. Contributions to this total include Rs 11.5 crore from Akola taluka, Rs 6.89 crore from Barshitakli, and Rs 5.12 crore from Murtijapur, as informed by Chaple.
