Derailment Drama: Bodinayakkanur-Bound Train Mishap

A minor derailment of a Bodinayakkanur-bound express train occurred in Madurai, leaving travel operations unaffected but causing a delay of 89 minutes. No injuries were reported as the train continued its journey after detachment and re-railing of the affected coach.

A Bodinayakkanur-bound express train experienced a minor derailment at Madurai Junction on Thursday morning, Southern Railway confirmed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

The train, originating from Chennai Central, faced an unexpected delay of 89 minutes as one of its wheels derailed during shunting. This affected the LSLRD coach, located next to the engine.

Following quick re-railing efforts and detachment of the affected coach, the train resumed its journey, leaving Madurai at 9.28 am and reaching its destination later than scheduled.
