In light of ongoing maintenance setbacks, Tata Group-owned Air India has been compelled to cancel close to 60 flights on key India-US routes. Affected travel stretches from November through December, primarily targeting major hubs like San Francisco, Chicago, and Washington.
According to sources within the airline, these cancellations are attributed to aircraft non-availability caused by delays in returning planes from maintenance and existing supply chain constraints. An Air India spokesperson confirmed the adjustments, emphasizing efforts to rebook affected travelers on alternate flights.
The airline stated that customers impacted by these changes have been duly informed and offered alternative travel options or full refunds. The cancellations mark a significant disruption during peak travel periods, with attempts to alleviate inconvenience for passengers.
