Officials from the South Western Railway demonstrated remarkable efficiency and integrity by recovering and returning a passenger's bag filled with gold ornaments, valued at approximately Rs 5.4 lakh, misplaced on a Yesvantpur-bound train.
Upon receiving a notification from the Tumakuru outpost regarding a missing bag, the railway team acted swiftly. They located the bag in the rear general coach at Yesvantpur station, ensuring the safe return of the passenger's belongings.
The contents of the bag, including a gold mangal sutra worth Rs 2,80,000, a necklace worth Rs 1,40,000, a pair of earrings valued at Rs 50,000, and a neck chain valued at Rs 70,000, were verified, documented, and handed over to the passenger, adhering to all necessary legal procedures.
