In a move aimed at stimulating economic activity in the capital, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has sanctioned the continuous 24-hour operation of 111 more shops and businesses. The government views this as a step towards enhancing commercial access and facilitating the constant availability of essential goods and services.
This allowance extends to eligible commercial entities, provided they comply with the Delhi Shops and Establishments Act, officials noted. The decision comes after a proposal from the labour department, which detailed that 111 out of 175 applicants were granted approval for round-the-clock operations.
The total number of establishments with 24-hour operational permits has now exceeded 700. The initiative is seen as a testament to the Delhi administration's effort to project a business-friendly stance, aiming to boost economic growth and job opportunities in the region, Chief Minister Atishi stated.
