The Adani Group's latest venture, the Navi Mumbai airport, is poised to commence operations in the first half of 2025, according to Group CFO Jugeshinder 'Robbie' Singh. This development follows the successful landing of Indian Air Force aircraft at the Navi Mumbai site earlier this month, marking a significant milestone for the aviation project.
Singh revealed these developments while announcing Adani Enterprises' quarterly and half-yearly financial results. The company has added six new routes, six new airlines, and 13 additional flights across its seven operational airports, further bolstering its presence in the aviation sector.
The Navi Mumbai airport will boast a 3,700-meter runway, modern terminals, and advanced air traffic management, with an initial capacity to handle 20 million passengers annually, scaling up to 90 million. Adani Airport Holdings, a subsidiary founded in 2019, manages 25% of India's passenger footfalls and 33% of air cargo, having secured contracts for six major airports.
Adani Enterprises reported a dramatic increase in net profits, with the July-September quarter seeing a 664% rise to Rs 1,741 crore, compared to Rs 228 crore in the same period of 2023. Overall profits in 2024-25 have soared by 254% to Rs 3,196 crore, with revenues rising 15% in the recent quarter and 14% overall to reach Rs 49,263 crore.
This financial success is underpinned by Adani's incubation portfolio and strong performance in core infrastructure sectors, as reflected in recording its highest half-yearly EBITDA of Rs 8,654 crore to date.
