In an alarming series of events, more than 80 flights operated by Indian airlines have been disrupted by bomb threats in recent days. Sources indicate the threats have targeted flights of major carriers like Air India, Vistara, and IndiGo, as well as Akasa Air, Alliance Air, and SpiceJet.
An IndiGo spokesperson confirmed that 20 of its flights, including routes from Hyderabad to Goa and Delhi to Istanbul, have received security alerts. Similar threats have impacted Akasa Air and Vistara, with thorough inspections conducted to clear the aircraft for continuing operations.
In response to the growing threat, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu announced government plans for legislative action, which may include adding individuals responsible for threats to a no-fly list. Authorities emphasize coordination with local officials to handle the situation safely.
