The Union Cabinet has sanctioned two major rail projects valued at Rs 6,798 crore, aiming to bolster connectivity in Andhra Pradesh and Bihar.
The first project involves constructing a 57-km rail line linking Andhra Pradesh's new capital, Amravati, which includes a 3.2-km bridge over the Krishna river. This will link Amravati to major metros like Hyderabad and Chennai.
The second project focuses on doubling rail lines in Bihar, covering 256 km, enhancing ties with Nepal and Northeastern states, while promoting regional growth and reducing logistics costs.
