The Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai has unveiled its latest innovation: fully air-conditioned sleeper coaches for the esteemed Vande Bharat Express. Designed with enhanced safety features and superior interiors, the sleeper coaches aim to offer an elevated travel experience for long-distance, overnight journeys.

Since 2018, ICF has been producing the swanky Vande Bharat Express trains, currently operational with 77 chair car configurations across India. The new sleeper coaches exhibit cutting-edge improvements, including GFRP panels, aluminum berth frames with polyurethane foam cushions, and bio-vacuum toilets complete with touch-free amenities.

The sleeper version is presently undergoing commissioning at ICF and will soon be dispatched for trials by the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO), part of the Ministry of Railways, to ensure readiness for nationwide deployment.
