The helicopter, a Robinson R44 II, crashed shortly after taking off from Ellington Field, approximately 24 kilometers away. It struck a radio tower in the area, causing both the helicopter and tower to be destroyed.

Emergency responders arrived swiftly, but no ground-based injuries occurred. Authorities, including the NTSB, continue to investigate, urging residents to report any pertinent information.
