The commissioning of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) networks, connecting major corridors like Delhi-Panipat and Delhi to Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror, is anticipated to begin next year, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal announced on Monday.

During a ride along the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, marking the first anniversary of Namo Bharat operations that served over 40 lakh passengers, Minister Lal inspected the strategically designed Anand Vihar RRTS Station. The station, built just a level below ground for seamless integration, is expected to become a vital commuter hub due to its connectivity with multiple transport modes.

The minister acknowledged the contributions of women train operators during his visit to the Sahibabad station. Trial runs are underway at Anand Vihar, with full operations expected by December. Once completed, the RRTS will revolutionize transit in the region, allowing travel from Delhi to Meerut within an hour.
