The Delhi government has initiated the trial run of its Mohalla bus service, aiming to enhance last-mile connectivity on the Vasant Vihar circular route. Flagged off by Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, the service promises to connect key regions including Munirka and Vasant Kunj, intending to alleviate commuting issues for residents.

Parmila Tokas, an AAP MLA, attended the launch that marks the beginning of a planned extension with two buses currently on trial, with plans to expand based on demand. Routes currently under scrutiny include areas in and around metro stations like Akshardham and Majlis Park, emphasizing the city's push for efficient feeder services.

The Mohalla Bus Scheme, recognized for its vibrant green buses, not only prioritizes eco-friendly travel but also promotes inclusivity with 25% of its seating reserved for women. With fares aligned with the city's air-conditioned buses, the initiative provides an option for free travel for women via a pink pass, enhancing accessibility.
