A parliamentary panel is set to scrutinize vital railway issues, including safety operations, network expansion, and the high-speed train project. Led by BJP MP C M Ramesh, this initiative targets significant concerns in Indian railways.
The 31-member committee will consider various other topics, such as upgrading public facilities at stations, enhancing freight earnings, and developing dedicated freight corridors to bolster railway efficiency.
Accidents in train operations have been a political flashpoint, yet the Railway Ministry claims improvements. Moving forward, the panel will assess land use, human resources, track technology, and rail infrastructure to make the sector more self-reliant.
