In a significant event marking the 25th anniversary of Mundra Port, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel unveiled a commemorative postal stamp. The celebration, coinciding with World Post Day, underscores the transformation of Mundra Port from its humble beginnings in 1998 as a single jetty to becoming India's largest commercial port and a pivotal player in global maritime trade.

Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, expressed his gratitude via social media platform 'X', acknowledging the challenges overcome during the port's remarkable journey. "This milestone is a testament to our trust and partnership with Gujarat and its people," he stated, reminiscing about the port's evolution.

The commemorative ceremony saw the presence of prominent officials like Rajesh Adani, Managing Director of Adani Enterprises Ltd, and Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports. Mundra Port's transformation is significant, handling a remarkable 11% of India's maritime cargo and 33% of its container traffic, contributing substantially to the state and national economy over the years. The port's development was further bolstered by investments worth over Rs70,000 crore and community initiatives that have positively impacted millions.

Karan Adani emphasized, "This commemorative stamp is symbolic of our collaborative success with Gujarat, reflecting our continuous commitment to driving economic growth and creating opportunities." The stamp launched, titled "25 Years of Progress - Mundra Port," is a product of collaboration between India Post and Adani Ports, with 5,000 sheets printed for sale. Additionally, a special cover and stamp cancellation were introduced, and the commemorative piece will be showcased at the National Philatelic Museum in New Delhi.

Mundra Port is a crucial component of India's maritime infrastructure, serving diverse regions within the country while maintaining a global presence with operations spread across Sri Lanka, Israel, and Tanzania. The company's long-term vision is to become the world's leading ports and logistics platform within the next decade.
